What’s the Good News?
The gospel or ‘good news’ is that God has sent his only Son to restore our broken relationship with him (John 3:16-17), and to heal and renew creation. The Bible calls this renewal ‘the Kingdom of God’.
Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" (Mark 1:14-15)
What did Jesus do?
Christmas – He Was Born for Us
Jesus was born as one of us to be our Saviour.
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel (which means "God with us"). (Matthew 1:23)
Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you;
he is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:11)
His Life and Teaching
Jesus devoted himself to preaching about the Kingdom of God and healing the sick. Through his teaching and example we can know the truth about God and how we should live our lives.
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. (John 1:18)
